Stay Home and Write: Virtual Retreat

Friday-Sunday, Aug. 4-6

In this Write-at-Home retreat, you’ll write at home—or close to home—in your pajamas if you please, at your desk in your comfy chair, in a local cafe, park, local library, café, or at a picnic table in the back yard or by a pond—it’s up to you.

This low-cost guided writing retreat eschews packing suitcases, lugging laptops and power cords, and instead is an opportunity for a low-carbon footprint, easy peasy write-at-home immersion with the support of others who are participating together—virtually.

Work on a big project or just get in the flow with daily writing prompts and virtual check-ins with a community of other writers. Our days will include:

• Lots of time to write
• Intention-setting and mutual, gentle, and supportive accountability
• Morning and lunchtime check-ins by Zoom and chat
• Evening read-aloud circle to share what we’ve written
• 2-3 optional prompts per day

You’ll also receive preparatory emails with suggestions for how to set up your time and space, including strategies for blocking out time so there are no outside intrusions or expectations from others, pre-planning meals, and other ways to set up your weekend retreat for success.
