A busy and beautiful month, complete with my first webinar and a pair of sparkly shoes.
Hello friends,
June was a busy and beautiful month here at Third House Moon! Here are some of the highlights:
- I presented an interactive talk, Dreaming Toward Bliss: Using ancient wisdom and modern science to access more joy in dreams and waking at the International Association for the Study of Dreams conference. The event took place at the 12th-century Rolduc Abbey in the Netherlands. I shared some photos from that trip, plus some travel philosophy in my online newsletter here.
- I also mused about what a Ram might be dreaming of in a poem that I posted in “The Life of H: Sarah, Reimagined,” an online publication, here. If, like me, you like to dive into symbolism and feminist theology, stay tuned because since posting that poem I’ve learned even more about mythical meanings connected to the Ram, and how those might connect to my favorite Hebrew Matriarch, Sarah.
- I also had two lively conversations about the newly published “The Little Deck of Dreams” in June: One on WENG radio’s All About Women show with Mary Jones (I’ll share that link when it’s available) and on the Midlife Whisperer’s podcast, which you can tune into here.
- And finally, for now, I also offered a webinar for the Women’s Fiction Writers Association in June, too. As you know, I’m not new to making presentations about dreams and writing online or in person (I’ve taught nationally and internationally in almost every imaginable setting from yoga retreats to universities for nearly 15 years). But—and let’s just keep this between us—this was my very first time offering a webinar. I think it went pretty well, too!
Looking ahead
As I write this, I’m preparing to attend the Yetzirah Poetry Conference in Asheville, NC. I haven’t been to Asheville since 2010, and I’m eager to return. I’m especially pleased to have been one of 36 poets chosen to attend this literary powerhouse of an event! Stay tuned for more details in next month’s recap.
