For those who can’t, won’t or don’t meditate
I counsel people to bring mindfulness into daily life. In addition to taking mindful walks, or creating a mindfulness practice that is tied to daily tasks such as folding laundry or doing the dishes, I also offer tips for making sleep and dreams into a mindfulness practice.
Why would you want to talk about your dreams?
I couldn’t stop thinking about how eager the people I met had been to learn about their dreams, and how many people are suffering needlessly from nightmares. Mostly it occurred to me that people don’t realize that dreamwork, which can be as simple as a conversation with a trained professional, has been proven to help with everything from grieving to relationship issues, to nightmares, and feelings of overall well-being
If It Were My Dream: Bringing Dreams to Life with Friends
I met Nancy some years back at an International Association for the Study of Dreams conference, but back then she lived in Santa Fe, so we remained what we call “conference buddies.” But then she moved to western Massachusetts, not far from where I live, and where she has some roots as well. Now, Nancy and I are teaming up on a brand-new dreamy offering. On Oct. 15, we’ll be leading a full-day in-person workshop in Florence, Mass., titled Bringing Dreams to Life: Tapping into Creativity with Group Dreamwork and Writing.

The Word You Wake Up With
The other day I woke with the word interregnum suspended in my mind. I was intrigued. So, I wrote the word at the top of the page and before I knew it a story began to form around it!
Saying Yes to a Piggy-No-No
clichés are clichés for a reason! They are words or expressions that are small packets of syllables that contain time-tested truths. Often they help describe otherwise hard-to-pin-down concepts. As with core human experiences like beauty, joy, love, and great sorrow, it’s hard to put words to how poetry and dreams move us.
