Seasonal updates from Tzivia
Dreaming through the seasons: Summer to fall
Does it feel like the ground is shifting beneath your feet? The real issue might be something that’s taking place above your head!
That’s because for most of this month (Sept. 7-21), we’ve been experiencing eclipse season. This is a time for cosmic shifts here on earth, which some people attribute to the movement of the planets up in the heavens.
I’m no expert in astrology, but I can tell you that I’ve been experiencing a lot of changes in my little corner of the world.
After a brief respite from caregiving for family and a dear friend, my elderly dad–who had recently made a miraculous recovery from a stroke in April–had a fall that landed him back in the hospital and then in rehab. And so, once again, my priorities have shifted.
And reliably, through it all, dreams and poetry continue to sustain me.
I’m here to remind you that when things outside feel tumultuous, you can look inward for reliable and stable guidance.
At ThirdHouseMoon.com you will discover what you need so you can use dreams and writing to help you navigate life’s inevitable ups and downs, too.
Here is a brief wrap-up of what I’ve been up to this summer, and what I’m looking forward to this fall.
- The Summer Stay @ Home & Write virtual weekend retreat was inspirational and magical! We’re going to do it again, so be sure to sign up for my newsletter to get the latest updates here.
- I participated in a group reading for the Manna Songs anthology, in which one of my poetic essays was recently published. You can learn more about that and hear me read an excerpt here.
- I offer my thoughts about a creative way that dreams and the imagination can help ease grief here.
Speaking of seasonal influences
This month, dream to wake up
Despite growing up Jewish, I didn’t realize until several years ago that there is a month on the Hebrew calendar devoted to getting in shape, spiritually.
Elul, which began earlier this month, is a time to take stock of your spiritual life in preparation for the High Holidays, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur (the Jewish New Year and Day of Atonement), and the 10 Days of Awe between them.
Since learning about Elul, I’ve discovered how to use dreamwork (engaging with the narratives of the midnight mind to find their healing and helpful messages) to wake up to my soul’s voice during this powerful season.
