Observations from the pillow in a time of pandemic
Today it’s obvious: When I stay close to home, consume less and crave less, I help my body to rest and stay healthy, and I help keep my community safe and healthy, too.
Throw Your Phone in the Ocean and other Cures for Writer’s Block
Besieged by a bottomless inbox Earlier this winter it was clear that my plate was full. No, it was overflowing with projects! Luckily, I had booked a trip to Puerto Rico to attend a writer’s …
Take 3 Steps Toward World Peace
in addition to whatever work you are inspired to do in your community, and in the world at large, I encourage you to take 3 steps to bring more peace to your inner world that can radiate outward.
Why I Loved Gerwig’s ‘Little Women’ … A Lot
The scene that stole my heart was when Jo pads around her attic studio late into the night, pacing in her stocking feet, rearranging pages of her manuscript, which are laid out in rows on the bare floor. In the process, I have learned a great deal about how dreams can help us as individuals and how they can support us as a community. Even in the face of the Climate Crisis that now threatens our planet.

Imagine a world in which the pundits on the nightly weigh in on big dreams from the day’s headlines. What did the reigning monarch dream last night? What recurring nightmare is plaguing the Prime Minister? Imagine the anchorwoman and talking heads arguing over interpretations of what these dreams might mean for cities and countries around the globe.
