Dreams and dreamwork can help you celebrate the shifting seasons

Summer officially begins on June 21st. And while the warmth of the sun naturally lures us outside to celebrate by firing up the barbecue grill or heading to the beach with family and friends, it is also a good time to turn inward.

The solstice is a powerful time for personal and collective shifts. Use this time for healing and to empower what you want to manifest. It’s also a good time to set intentions, and ask for guidance and support. You can even add a solstice gathering to the usual round of picnics and porch parties. Ask yourself: What do I want to bring into my life at this time? What do I want to let go of?

Here are some ideas for supercharging the the solstice, soulfully.

In the days leading up to the solstice, take some time out to consider what’s working in your life, what you want to release, and what you’d like to invite in. Then create a simple ritual to attract the energies you want to manifest and let go of things you want to release.

Observe your dreams as you embark on this process. They will offer you a snapshot of your successes, challenges, and needs in this season. When you remember a dream, write it down. Then ask:

 How is this dream serving my spiritual growth?

 What is the lesson and the gift in this dream?

 What is the message for me in this dream?

It can be especially fruitful to incubate a dream to empower your intentions and reveal information to help you manifest them.

Write them down your dreams and be prepared to let the messages unfold over time. Remember:

 Dreams rarely give yes or no answers; they speak primarily in metaphor and image, which can help you see multiple facets of a situation.

 Work from the inside out. Small shifts in attitude and behavior can net the most satisfying and profound results.

  Keep checking in with your dreams to see if you are moving in the right direction and to receive “course corrections” as needed.
